Essential cat nutrition made easy

Cat nutrition for a kitten is essential; however, there are times when owners start of a pet diet that is not good for them. Cheap cat food with too much salt and fats, low in meat and high in carbohydrates is not balanced, and later in life the result is a cat may have health issues that could have been avoided.

Cats are like humans: they love different textures of food, a pet diet full of balanced ingredients with quality meats or fish will see them eating their food, licking their paws and purring away to their heart’s content.

It is important to remember that bit of a treat given to a kitten from the dinner table will result in a habit that is hard to break. Soon your regular pet diet will be a have been in vain, and your cat will have become a fussy eater.

The best way to avoid your kitten or cat from becoming a fussy eater is to nip it in the bud. Do not change your pet diet, keep to the same routine, leave a small portion of quality balanced cat food in his bowl and pick it up after half an hour as passed.

If the food is still in the bowl and your cat appears to be in good health then let him wait until his next meal is due before placing the same bowl of cat food before him, he will soon realise you are not taking notice of his demands and his rumbling stomach will win.

Other members of the cat family, such as lions and tigers, are well known as being an animal that is cunning, and your domesticated cat is no different. If you give him treats and special attention, he will let you.

At Hills Pets we have a wide range of quality balanced kitten and cat food, Hills Science Plan caters is a high premium balanced pet food that guarantees good cat nutrition.

Better Pet Health Through Raw Dog Food

Pet owners should take some time to read the ingredients label on the kibble that is being fed to their pets. Most dry kibble contains many ingredients that were never intended for your pet to eat. Raw dog food does not contain any corn, wheat or other grain fillers that can cause problems for your best friend. Just as humans feel better when they switch to natural foods, so do the pets.

Many pets are fussy eaters simply because of the foods that are set before them. These fussy eaters do not have the energy or health that they should. Simply put, most commercial foods simply are not prepared using the foods that they need and love. Even pets that wolf down the prepared foods may not receive the needed nutrition as it is not in a form that can be digested by the pet. Owners of these pets see great improvements in the health of the animal by changing their diet.

Changing the pets to foods that the pets need can expect to have fewer allergy problems. Those allergies may cause digestive problems, including diarrhea, upset stomach and gas. These allergies can cause the pets to lose vitality and lose weight.

Choosing the wrong pet foods can lead to problems with skin and hair. By changing the diet, the pet’s coat can become lush and glossy while shedding is reduced. Reducing the shedding prevents pet hair on clothing, carpets and furniture. Additionally, the switch can help to clear up problems with itchy skin and hot spots. Often these conditions show noticeable improvements.

If the pet owner notices no other improvement in pet health, he will notice the fact that feeding pets the foods that they naturally prefer will result in firmer stools that are smaller and offer easier cleanup in the back yard. In fact, stools of pets fed uncooked meats and bone often simply decompose in the sun into a white powder that has little to no smell.

When pets are given uncooked meats and bones, they have healthier gums and teeth resulting in better breath. When dogs chew uncooked bones, they strengthen and clean their teeth naturally. Cooked bones are dangerous for dogs as they can splinter, but raw ones provide the necessary exercise to keep the pet’s mouth healthy.

Once pets have had their diets changed from diets of kibble to the alternative of natural foods, they will have more energy. These pets are healthier and much more vital. Dogs of every breed benefit from this type of change. It is especially good for working or sporting pets.

Since dogs are man’s best friend they should be provided with the best foods possible. In reward to the companionship and friendship of your pet, provide him with raw dog food so that he gets the nutrition needed to stay healthy for his entire lifetime.

Understand The Deep Meaning Of The Zebra’s Stripes

My uncle who is an artisan was the first person to give me a good description of a Zebra. He used one of his Zebra Wood Carving as a model to describe the black and white stripes on the Zebra’s skin. The description was so accurate that when I later saw the live animal I could identify it easily and confidently. The Zebra’s stripes are its trade mark indeed.

Plain Zebra,Grev’s Zebra and Mountain Zebra are the three Zebra species that are known to exist. All the three species occur in Africa. The Plains Zebra are the most plentiful and can be found virtually anywhere on the Kenyan plains and other parts of East Africa while the Grevy’s Zebra are mostly found in Northern Kenya. The Plains Zebra and Grev’s Zebra of Kenya have been known to coexist in the same habitat. The Mountain Zebra have their habitat in Southern and Southwestern Africa. Zebras are herbivorous and can grow up to 900 lb (410kg) or more. Being social animal, they move in herds of different sizes.

While the black and white stripe pattern makes the Zebra spectacular, the amazing facts about the stripes go beyond the beauty. For years scientists have argued about why the zebra has distinctive black and white stripes. The theories rotate around Zebra Identity and Camouflage. This article discusses these amazing theories:

– Description: Whether the Zebra’s stripes are white on a black background, as some people say, or vice versa is academic. I leave it at that.

– Identity: At first glance Zebras in a herd might all look alike, but their stripe patterns are as distinctive as fingerprints are in humans. There are, indeed, scientific methods that can identify individual Zebras by comparing patterns, stripe widths and colour. Further proof that Zebra stripes are identity marks is provided by their behavior. For example, on rare occasions when unstriped Zebras are born, they tend to be ignored by the rest of the herd, confirming at least, that Zebra stripes are a passport to Zebra society. Also, when a foal is born, the mother keeps all other Zebras away from it for two to three days, until it learns to recognize her by sight, voice and smell.

– Camouflage: Scientists believe the Zebra’s stripes provide camouflage in the following manner:

– The vertical stripes of a Zebra will resemble tall grass, save for the colour-grass is neither black nor white. A colour blind predator, like a lion, may, therefore, not notice a Zebra standing still in tall grass. – The Zebra stripe pattern forms a discolouration that breaks up the body outline. A herd of Zebras close together may thus appear like one large animal. The advantage of all this to the Zebra is best appreciated when you consider that the main predator for the Zebra is the lion, which is colour blind. Now, in attack, the lion must first identify the target, usually a young, old or a weakened Zebra. The Lion’s eyes must then lock on the target Zebra. If, for whatever reason, the Lion is unable to achieve any of these steps, then, its stealth and ambush attack strategy is likely to be in vain.
